Design & Installation of two waste-to-energy wood burning air curtain incinerators

Project Description: S2EC was the principal engineering firm responsible for the permitting and construction of Model 4030 Air Curtain Incinerators. The incinerators process 96 tons of solid waste per day and reduced the facility's waste by 99% for every 100 cubic yards of waste now entering the local landfill. Project reduced waste to only one cubic yard of ash requiring disposal. S2 Engineering & Consulting handled air and solid waste permitting, environmental reporting compliance, design and compliance, startup management.

Contract Description: This program prepared unemployed, underemployed, minorities, women, and other economically disadvantaged individuals for meaningful employment opportunities in the transportation industry. Students received NCCER, OSHA 30-Hr, and Flagger certifications. These opportunities included employment on highway and bridge construction projects, as well as the commercial trucking industry. This program also assisted contractors in meeting the requirements for minority and women participation on construction projects.

FTA Policy and procedures manual development &

Project Description: The Policy & Procedures manual was created  to facilitate efforts of the OPT to administer State and Federal funds for transit related projects in accordance with the South Carolina State Management Plan (SMP) and other applicable State and Federal guidelines.
S2EC reviewed OPT's State Management Plan, along with Federal regulations regarding MAP-21, including current Federal Transit Authority (FTA) circulars and State regulations, cataloged chapters, sections to fully update the SMP, with new and/or proposed regulations.
